15 Days Safari in Uganda National Parks, Mt Elgon & Jinja Tour

Day One:- Arrive at Entebbe Airport
You will be welcomed at the airport by our representative probably your tour guide/ driver and transfer to forest cottages in Kampala for dinner and overnight according to the time of arrival.

Day Two:- Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, you will be picked up by the tour guide/ driver and start your journey Northwards to Murchison Falls National Park passing through the famous Luwero Triangle and a stopover for Rhino trekking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary the home to white Rhinos and en-route lunch at Masindi. Later enter the park and visit the most impressive falls in East Africa, Murchison Falls where the mighty River Nile thunders through at a 7metres wide rock roaring about 45metres below as it goes down the rift valley escapade. We continue and check into the service of fort Murchison for dinner and Overnight.

Day Three:- Murchison Falls National Park
After an early breakfast, we drive to the ferry and cross to the Northern sector of the park where we do the game drive to the delta in search for wildlife which includes Buffaloes, Giraffes, Elephants, Kobs, Waterbucks, Heatbeasts, Oribis, etc plus a variety of bird life and possibly lions and leopards. We come back to the camp, relax around, have lunch and later at 2:00pm go for a boat trip on the Nile to the bottom of the falls for yet another but different view of wildlife at close quarters as they come to drink and cool at the shores of the river. Come back to lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Four:- Murchison Falls – Kibale National Park
The day begins early as we get early breakfast and with luggage and packed lunch proceed to Kaniyo Pabidi forest for chimpanzee trekking which takes about 2-3 hours in search for chimpanzee and other primates as well as a variety of bird-life. We later proceed on to Kibale through Masindi and Hoima with en-route lunch passing through traditional homesteads and tea plantations and later check into the service of primate lodge Kibale for dinner and overnight.

Day Five:- Kibale National Park
After breakfast, we go to the park’s visitors center for briefing before we start the chimp trekking at 8:00am. The activity normally takes about 2-3 hours in search for chimpanzees and about 11 other primate species chattering and swinging through the ancient forest trees. Out the walk you’re also likely to encounter a variety of bird life and butterfly. Come back to the lodge relax around, have lunch and later at 2:00pm go for a nature walk in the Bigodi wetland which is very rewarding. This takes about 3 hours. We come back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Six:- Kibale – Queen Elizabeth National Park
After a relaxed breakfast, we transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, driving through the crater regions and along the foothills of the Rwenzori mountains. We enter the park in the afternoon with a mini game drive and later check into the service of Bush lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Seven:- Queen Elizabeth National Park
The day begins early as we drive to Kasenyi plains in search for wildlife which includes Kobs, Waterbucks. Warthogs, Buffaloes, Elephants, Hyenas, Bushbucks, Giant forest hogs, Lions and possibly leopards as well as numerous bird species. Return to the Hostel for breakfast, relax around, have lunch and later at 3:00pm go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel where you encounter schools of hippos, crocodiles and a variety of bird-life and local fishermen at work. We come back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Eight:- Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi National Park
After breakfast, we drive southwards to Bwindi impenetrable National Park though the famous Ishasha sector where the climbing lions can be seen with en-route lunch and later check into the service of Buhoma community Rest Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day Nine:- Bwindi Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast at about 7:45am with our simple packed lunch, we go to the visitors information center/ park headquarters for registration and briefing before starting the expeditions which takes about 2-3 hours  trekking Gorillas. The activity can be strenuous moving in steep muddy conditions and sometimes with rain overhead. We come back to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day Ten:- Bwindi National Park – Lake Bunyonyi
After a substantial breakfast, we transfer to lake Bunyonyi through Ruhija sector and the little Switzerland of Africa and Kabale arriving in the afternoon and check into the service of Bunyonyi overland camp for lunch, relax around and later dinner and overnight at over land camp.

Day Eleven:- Lake Bunyonyi – Masaka
After breakfast, we go for a boat cruise around the myriad islands supplemented by bird watching, come back to the camp for lunch and later transfer to Masaka and check in to the service of Hotel Brovad for dinner and overnight.

Day Twelve:- Masaka – Mt. Elgon National Park

After early morning breakfast, we transfer to Mbale for the fourth highest mountain in East Africa which is Mountain Elgon. En-route for lunch and then check into the Services of Mt Elgon lodge have a relaxed evening and later dinner and overnight.

Day Thirteen:- Mt. Elgon National Park
After breakfast we go for optional forest walk or community walk that may take 2-3 hours and come back to the lodge for lunch, relax around and later in the evening visit the popular Sipi falls. We come back to the lodge for dinner and over night.

Day Fourteen:- Mount Elgon – Jinja
After breakfast we transfer to Jinja through Mbale. Arriving in the afternoon with lunch en-route, visit the source of the River Nile (said to have been discovered by Speke in 1886 though it was being seen by the local people around him). The river takes its long journey through Sudan and Egypt before ending in the Mediterranean sea. You will take a 40 minutes boat ride to the monument. If time allows we visit Itanda falls famous for its natural and magnetic beauty of rapids. We later check into the service of Palm Tree Guest House for dinner and overnight.

Day Fifteen:- Jinja – Kampala
After breakfast, we transfer to Kampala, passing by the Owen Falls Dam famous for producing most of the country’s electricity. Visit the Sezibwa falls on the way and Namugongo Martyrs shrine where 22 of the Kings subjects were burnt alive for believing in the Christianity. Visit the Uganda National Museum and the Kasubi tombs ancestral burial place for the Buganda Kings. We Later transfer to the airport for your flight home.
