Queen Elizabeth Safari - An 8 Days Safari

Day One:- Kampala Kibale National Park

You will be picked up by your driver/ guide from your place of accommodation and proceed on to Kibale National Park through traditional homesteads and tea plantations of Kabarole with en-route lunch and check into the service of Primate Lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

Day Two:- Kibale National Park

After breakfast, you slope down to the park offices at about 7:45am for registration and briefing before you start the chimps trekking. The trekking normally takes about 3 hours in Kibale forest one of East Africas oldest forests. Come back and relax around, have lunch and later in the afternoon go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary at 2:00pm. You come back to the lodge after the walk for dinner and over night.

 

Day Three:- Kibale Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, we drive to Mweya through crater lakes region and a mini game drive as we enter the park and check into the service of Mweya Hostel. We have lunch and relax around and later at 3:00 pm go for the boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel to view the wildlife from close quarters as they cool off along the shores of the Channel that connects Lakes George and Edwards. Come back to the lodge in the evening for dinner and over night.

 

Day Four:- Queen Elizabeth National Park Bwindi
The day begins early as we start the game drive at 6:30am in the Kasenyi plains in search for wildlife which includes Buffalos, Kobs, Warthogs, Elephants, Waterbucks, Lions, Hyenas, and if you are lucky leopards among others. After the game drive that takes about 2 3 hours, we go back to the lodge for breakfast and check out and drive to Bwindi through Ishasha sector wheretree climbing lions can be seen according to the luck of the day, with lunch en-route (packed) and later check in to the service of Buhoma community Rest Camp for dinner and overnight.

 

Day Five:-
After breakfast, at about 7:45am, we walk down to the visitors centre for registration and briefing before starting gorilla trekking. The exercise may be strenuous walking up steep hills sometimes under muddy conditions. It may take about 2 8 hours before you encounter any gollira. You come back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

Day Six:-
After a relaxed breakfast, we check out and drive to Lake Bunyonyi arriving in the afternoon and check into the service of Bunyonyi over land camp, have our lunch and relax a bit and later in the afternoon go for a boat cruise along the lake. In this boat ride we can visit some of the lakes 80 islands where we can see a lot of water birds and see some traditional dancers and pygmies. We later come back to the camp for dinner and over night.

 

Day Seven:-
After breakfast, we check out and drive to Lake Mburo National Park arriving in the afternoon with lunch en-route and check into the service of Rwonyo Camp. Then later in the afternoon go for the boat cruise on Lake, this can take about one and half hours (at 4:00 pm) come back to the camp for dinner and over night.

 

Day Eight:- Lake Mburo National Park Kampala
The day begins early as we wake up for one of the two activities. Either we go for early morning nature walk in search of wildlife that includes, Buffaloes, Zebras, Warthogs, Impalas, Eland (Africas biggest antelope) Topis, Bushbucks, Reedbucks, Waterbucks and leopards among others. This normally takes about two hours according to how much you use on the walk and the interest you have in what you see. This one of the best walks we have or we go for the early morning game drive in search for wildlife that includes waterbucks, buffaloes, zebras, impala, reedbucks, bush pigs, topis, oribis, baboons, warthogs, hippos, leopards and a number of bird species and hyenas among others. This normally takes us about 2 3 hours then after the drive back to Kampala with lunch en-route arriving later in the afternoon and check into our lace of accommodation for dinner and overnight or we go straight to the airport.
