Lake mburo National Park is the closest to Kampala and most accessible National Park. It is a Savannah woodland park centered on swamp fringed lakes(Lake Mburo) and has a rich bird life which includes the papyrus gonolek and the rare African finfoot. It also harbours dense populations of Zebras, impalas and the last surviving Ugandan population of Eland, the largest of African antelope.
